So, basically, this long open letter that I am currently preparing for mailing is never going to get read because our concerns are longer than what will fit on a post card?

Not meant to be snarkish, but a serious question. Cos that's pretty much what I took from that post.

In any case, we have the newest version up and are going to be sending it out to several different people tomorrow. I just thought I'd let you know since you seemed to be interested with the first go around.

BTW, you've been a real trooper through all of this. We have noticed and we do appreciate it!

I think the rule is, for any post over 100 words, we get to pick one sentence out of every 5 that we can take offense to, and one sentence in every five that we love. Heh.

Trust me, as someone who's *super* wordy myself, you take as much time and as many words as you need. I'm looking forward to it.

And FWIW, I think this applies to you too: "BTW, you've been a real trooper through all of this. We have noticed and we do appreciate it!"
I agree with the good intentions part. I wouldn't have bothered to put in the time I have this week if I didn't.

And as for the last part, thanks! I can tell you that after this week I have had a lot more sympathy for you guys in terms of the comments that people leave on posts and such. I think the most comments I had ever had to a post before barely broke the triple digits. Getting 1,000+ to two different posts this week (and not thinking to turn email notifications off) was definitely an experience.

Sorry. You are probably a hell of a nice guy with the best of intentions. But yannow what? I've spent over three thousand (nearly four) thousand dollars supporting your site over the years. I've invested hundreds of hours recruiting members, moderating communities, creating places where people can not only dream, but where they can interact with others around the world in a spirit of fun. I am responsible for over 500 members, and I take that seriously.

So, as I sit here, nine days after sending my email and letter, I really don't care too awful much about whether or not LJ/6A likes my imperfectly groomed communications. I AM THE CUSTOMER. You guys are the service provider. That is your JOB! This is not about fandom, per se, though NO ONE at LJ seems to GET the core reason why fandom member are so upset and outraged (no, it isn't the porn. I don't write porn. *insert eyeroll*). It isn't all about Free Speeeech (though y'all would do well to remove the home page advert that proclaims this to be an OPEN COMMUNITY).

This is about integrity. This is about ethics. This is about LJ keeping their customers on a slippery slope in a world that is already slippery enough. But more than anything? This is about abysmal, piss poor, laughable, mock worthy, horrific, incredibly inept customer service.

So please do not patronize me, and the other people who are being ignored. Provide the customer service. I want what I pay for. Pretty simple, really.
